Privacy Policy

🔒 The short version: Portal17 Studio runs entirely on your own computer. We don't collect, transmit, sell, or have any access to your flows, variables, database credentials, or browsing activity.

This Privacy Policy explains what happens to your data when you use the Portal17 Studio desktop application, download it from the Microsoft Store, or visit this website (portal17studio.com). It applies to Portal17 Studio and every language the app is available in.

The Desktop App

Portal17 Studio is a local, offline-first application. Everything it does happens on your own machine:

  • Flows and projects (.portal files): saved wherever you choose on your computer. We never receive a copy of them.
  • Variables and constants: stored locally in the app's Data Store and, if you use the CSV export feature, written only to a file you pick yourself.
  • Browser automation: the app uses Microsoft Playwright to drive a real browser on your machine. Whatever pages your flows visit, and whatever you type into them, is between you and those websites — Portal17 Studio does not log, monitor, or transmit that activity to us.
  • Database connections (SQL Query node): any connection string, credentials, or query results you configure stay local to your computer. We never see or receive them.
  • Scheduler: scheduled flows are registered as ordinary tasks in the Windows Task Scheduler, on your machine. Nothing about your schedule is sent anywhere.
  • No telemetry: the app does not include analytics or usage-tracking SDKs of any kind.

Microsoft Store

If you install Portal17 Studio from the Microsoft Store, Microsoft itself collects standard account, purchase, and diagnostic information as part of operating the Store and Windows — the same as for any other Store app. That data is handled entirely under Microsoft's own privacy commitments, not ours. This Website

portal17studio.com is a static site with no backend, no accounts, and no cookies. The interactive Playground and Sandbox pages run entirely in your browser for demonstration purposes — nothing you click, type, or "submit" there is transmitted to us or stored anywhere; it resets the moment you reload the page.

Children's Privacy

Portal17 Studio is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone. Since neither the app nor this website collects personal data in the first place, this is naturally the case regardless of the user's age.

Changes to This Policy

If this policy ever changes — for example, if a future version of the app adds an optional online feature — we'll update this page and revise the "Last updated" date above.
